Meg and Tory Convo

Summary

Today we are talking about the Meg Thee Stallion Tory Lanez situation. Warren and Sam Dupe have had an ongoing argument regarding how the court of public opinion has treated Tory Lanez during this whole ordeal. Warren feels that black men don’t get enough grace in situations that involve any type of criminal activity and wants people to extend the same grace to men that women get. Sam Dupe perspective is clearly Tory Lanez’s neglect in one way or another caused harm to Megan and the consequences of the public’s opinions were brought on by his decisions. We discuss what responsible gun ownership is and Tell Mikell explains how what Tory Lanez is going through is a product of his decisions and his immaturity. We have a discussion about what manhood looks like during trying times and how sometimes you have to take things on the chin until the facts can be cleared.

Grind Culture is Killing Us

Summary

Today we talk about how difficult it is for men to rest because our perceived worth is embedded within our everyday grind and our everyday struggle. So many men work themselves to exhaustion and don’t think twice about it because they are taught that their value is tied to how much they can produce or how much they can perform. We break down how the need and the want to grind can also be tied to a trauma response instead of just passion or drive. We really dive deep into the self-doubt that creeps in even when we do decide to take more of a break or work less.

Men Scared of Success

Summary

Today we are having a conversation about men that are scared to be in successful relationships. Sam Dupe has an interesting theory that he feels like there are a lot of men out here that are afraid of the responsibility associated with being the head of household. We analyze whether or not that fear manifests itself in the sabotage of romantic relationships that otherwise could be successful. We also talk about being a support system to help men get over the fear and what that looks like. The reality is the role of being a protector and provider comes with a lot of pressure that can be a strong deterrent and the goal is to restore confidence in these men so that we can grow our families and our legacies.

Post-Grad Depression

Imposter syndrome and bad management diminished his professional confidence and how he was able to overcome those things. Cam also discussed how he was able to get himself back in order through helping others, mentoring, and taking care of himself physically. I Ain’t a Killer But Don’t Push Me!!!

Summary

Today we are talking all about crime and how it has spiked over the past year or so. Tell Mikell believes that the rise in crime is due to organized crime and Joe Dupe thinks that the rise in crime specifically in Atlanta is based on an energy shift and high anxiety and normal people are committing violent crimes who have never committed a violent crime. It seems like everyone is on high alert and ready to end each other’s lives at a moment’s notice. High anxiety that has not been dealt with maybe the reason for this spike in violent crime because people have not been able to release and actually deal with what they went through in 2020. We also talk about the young people who are now carrying guns at a higher rate than usual and making poor decisions trying to seek a certain status in their organized crime families. We also discuss how we have moved differently and reacted differently because we see every interaction as a possible life and death interaction.
